Knowing Dr. Joe has been such a wonderful part of my life. Having multiple symptoms and several illnesses does not always help me feel my best. However, I know that my weekly visit to see him or his partner, Dr. Jeff Tuzzo will always make my visit worthwhile.

The subtitle of this book is “A Practical Guide to Health through Diet, Rest, Exercise, Alignment and Mental Attitude.” This book is truly a wonderful journey to getting well and staying well, throughout your entire life. If you come to Hudak Chiropractic and Wellness Center, you will be treated like family. The first step towards wellness is that feeling of belonging to a wonderful family. The doctors and staff are very personable and caring. The state of the art equipment and nicely laid out waiting area and individual treatment rooms are warm and cozy. Coffee and tea are always available as well as large screen televisions, which are playing valuable info regarding your health and wellness.

This book is also a true journey; as the table of contents will truly attest. From the first pages describing the successful journey you will take if you follow this book. It goes through your diet; not necessarily a diet book but more a clearer understanding of the proper foods one should be eating to ensure better health. It describes how your body requires carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It offers insight into type two diabetes and the effects of it on your body. It gives kudos to proteins, and we learn that enzymes, antibodies, hemoglobin and even our DNA is all made from protein. More info that we did not know is told about water, getting our greens, eating small meals and our sugar cravings.

We also learn about our rest and relaxation habits and how they affect our well being. The problems of not getting enough sleep are examined and why sleep and rest are so important, and what we can do to get a better nights’ sleep. The next chapter describes your exercise journey. You will be happy to know that there is no expensive exercise equipment recommended. Simple uses of things we have are the base point of the recommended exercises in this book. Remember this is a wellness journey, designed to strengthen our body and well being. It describes truths and myths about strength training; such as when you stop weightlifting, your muscle turns to fat. This is untrue, but when strength training is ceased, your muscles will reduce in size but will not turn to fat.

Your alignment journey is a fascinating read. Here we will learn how our spinal cord is related to our feeling of wellness. Our nervous system is comprised of trillions of nerves that each has a communication system of electrical impulses. Some of these nerves are pain nerves and do precisely what their name implies. Most times when people come to a chiropractor, it is because they are in pain. Recognizing why you are in pain rather than just taking a pill to mask the pain, is what it’s all about.

Once reading this truly informative book, you will see your body in a different light. It is enlightenment and anyone who truly wants to stay healthy and live a happy and pain free life, should read this book. You will not be sorry.
